The Satmap Active 10 is a tremendous handheld GPS that truly "does what it says on the box". But it really needs a larger scale set of maps to make the product usable. This 1:50,000 set of maps, as others have noted, conforms exactly to the popular OS Landranger series and is excellent to use. The maps need no installation. Just load the SD card into the GPS, turn it on and it will discover the maps. The 1:25,000 maps will obviously provide even better detail, but for most of us they are prohibitively expensive to buy. This 51:0,000 set of maps will be good enough for the great majority of walking or geocaching needs. It does cover the whole of Great Britain (contrary to what other reviewers have claimed) and is a cost effective addition to the Satmap. Note that Northern Ireland is NOT covered by this series.

Familiar territory if you are used to using a pink OS map. Clear and easy to read but, as you would expect with a small screen, it in not easy to plan a long journey. Quite expensive but full uk coverage seemed the way to go. Have used it over familiar areas and is identical to good old paper maps.

Excellent price and service from Amazon.As previous reviewer stated whole map now comes on a single card. It would appear that both Northern and Southern areas are saved separately on the card.Have tried it out on a couple of local walks and it works perfectly well.Have no complaints about this product and to have the whole of Great Britain on a single card and at the price it is now on offer is great value for money.This could be the only card you need if you are an experienced walker and confident enough to use 1:50000 scale maps for all your walks.A must have addition for your collection ?
