When you first get it, it looks akin to a round bar of soap. You need to soak it in water to get it to open up. When I did this I was really sceptical as to whether it would work or not because the material was REALLY thin in comparison to other similar towels I had bought before.This sceptisim continued when I actually used it after my shower. I was pleasantly surprised that it did work and I was dry in no time. Although when I was using, I thought the towel would rip as its so thin, but so far its not, and I hope it won't in the future. It dries up relatively quickly in comparison to a conventional bath towel, but I find you have to open it up as much as you can for it do so quickly. The first time I used the towel, I left it all folded up which meant it didn't dry up, which in my past experiences with other similar towels they did.So overall, the towel is really good to use and its mostly positive things I have to say. The reason I have only given it 3 stars is because: (a) at parts of my towel, barely but still visible on the edges, they have gone an orangey almost mouldy colour (the orangey colour is present on about 2% of the towel but as a new towel I don't think it should do that), so that's why I've taken 1 star off; (b) it took so long to arrive and I wasn't aware it was coming from the US. It took almost 3 weeks for me to receive the item. When I emailed the seller, I was informed that it was taking a bit longer because they had to order in more stock. I was just a bit annoyed I wasn't informed until I asked of its whereabouts. Also, unless I have completely misread the descriptions and where the item is coming from, I didn't read it was coming from America. The only reason I raise this as an issue is because it would again take longer for me to receive than if it were coming from within the UK. I was expecting to receive the item within a week, before I was going to a music festival, so that was a bit disappointing too. Had I known it was coming from America, I would have been persuaded to buy from a seller sending a similar item from within the UK. For the reason of the long delay and coming from America, I have deducted another star.All-in-all, the item is a good product! Hope this review helps people decide.

I bought two different sizes of these to take to a folk festival where there were no towels provided in the accommodation, I don't do camping! The towels are packed perfectly into tiny packages, so for someone like me who is never knowingly underpacked, that was just what I needed.They take a little time and work to expand for the first use, I didn't want to soak them, just use them as they came out of the packing to soak up the moisture and tease them out to their full size, but well worth the effort. The larger ones wrapped around me and even though lightweight were perfectly adequate following my shower. However even though the smaller ones were not quite large enough to go round my head to dry my hair (that is partly why I gave them only 4 stars), they were perfect as handtowels. Thst is easily solved I'll just buy another pack of the bigger ones next time!!!! They washed up perfectly on my return, I will take them with me again next time, and buy another pack of the bigger towels for my hair.OK, they aren't glamourous and luxurious, nor actually the softest material, although they are softer than some of my older well washed towels at home (hence another reason for four stars), however, they really do exactly what they say they will do. So, if you want to dry yourself without having to carry a great big heavy bath towel around, get yourself a set of these, excellent value for money, barely weigh anything and even when unravelled take up no space at all. Oh and they dry really quickly too!

The towels are not very pretty but they are long lasting. I have washed mine in our w/machine several times and towels are still strong. Would recommend for hols.
