Bought about 8 months ago, have used the knife in it almost every day, in fact thats why i bought the kit. all the componants were very good except the fire steel which the handle was split (although this didnt matter to me as it was too bulky anyway and i took out the rod and used on its own.)good basis for a survival kit and a nice size pouch if you are looking to customise it to your own needs (like i did).

I am writing this review so that you don't make the same mistake as I have. I bought this kit for my nephew, who loves Bear Grylls merchandise. The item looked great when it arrived and I was impressed with everything. However, when travelling home I was asked if it was OK to search through my luggage, not a problem as I had nothing to hide. The police seen the Bear Grylls packaging with the knife symbol and asked if they could open the package, I didn't think too much of it as I bought it from Amazon.co.uk so assumed it was OK. It wasn't. The police informed me that I was in a position of an offensive weapon and because lock knives are illegal in the UK I could be prosecuted. The police carried out a background check on my name, no problems there, and let me away with a caution. I drove on but without my birthday gift. Be careful that when you purchase this item you may be buying an item that is illegal to carry in public.

This product is brilliant and has a hole load of good stuff included. The only problem is that the striker which comes with the fire steel is not great but it came easily be replaced.Overall great kit!!!
