Product Description

The NIMBUS is an extremely spacious 12-berth tent for larger groups which is quick and easy to erect and at the same time offers greatest protection.

The tent has a peak height of over 200 cm, allowing best possible freedom of movement and the generous living area in the centre provides ample space for all your belongings. The porch area at the front can be used as a part of the main living area, should you need a larger tent: simply zip the front wall out and zip it in right at the front of the porch, extending the size of your indoor area. Left as an open porch, the sheltered front area offers a cosy retreat for you and your friends on cooler evenings.

The three sleeping pods are positioned one at either side of the tent and one at the back. The large pod at the back has a central divider which can be rolled down. The breathable inner tent material and vents help keep the climate inside the tent comfortable and mesh on the sleeping pods and main entrance keep out any unwelcome insects. The handy magazine holder and mesh storage pockets are useful extras in this practical tent and a groundsheet for the living area is included.

The NIMBUS offers a fantastic 5,000 mm water column, giving you and your family excellent protection from even the nastiest of British weather.

5Fantastic Family Tent
By Taylor
We bought this tent after our 5 berth became too small.Although it is a 12 man tent, we are only a family of 7, but the tent suited our needs perfectly. There is enough space to stretch out, so you aren't on top of each other. We used the large sleeping area for us, which comes with a handy divider which we used and put our wardrobes in the other half.Three children in one pod and two in the other pod, left lots of space in the middle should the weather play up. We had enough space for a table and chairs to play games etc.At the front we closed off halfway and had an entrance area, for shoes and swimming floats etc.So much space, which is what you need when away camping.Putting the tent together was extremely easy as the poles are all colour co-ordinated. Working together took us no time at all.Overall a very happy buy and would highly recommend.

5The reduced price makes this even more of a bargain
By Bobby Moon
To be honest I brought mine from ebay for even less, but when I was searching for a large tent the image, and then the actual Skandika website, gave me a really good idea of what I was thinking of buying. I lost the bid initially, and then it came online again, the previous bidder and messed the vendor around. The vendor did not have the instructions so when it came to erecting the thing I was literally in the dark. My partner (not a happy camper at the best of times) and I erected this massive 8m x 7m monster in the dark, by the sea, in a slight gale and under Welsh rain. Well, believe it or not, even when the main body of the tent plummed out into a parachute and nearly sent my beloved across the field into the next one with a load of cattle, we were able to get thing up in an hour.Spending a long weekend by the sea in it, with my partner and excitable collie dog, was an absolute pleasure. We had space to make one of the sleeping compartments into a kitchen, the other into a general purpose store. There was plenty of room in the large back of the tent sleeping compartment. The ground sheet covered the main central floor space and the extra front porch was a god send when the heavens erupted. It is like sleeping in a marquee if you are a small family unit, but already several friends want to come along and share it, and I am not so sure I want to share the luxury afforded by this monster tent. There are some really well thought through solutions from: colour coded tent poles, the small windows near the bottom of the tent to allow light in the darker places of the tent, to the little inbuilt ceiling window flaps which aid star gazing and general light levels. The tent is sturdy - I thought it was Swedish - I now think it might be German.I have had over 6 tents in my camping life, and this one, without doubt is the bees knees. I think it is worth the £300 quoted here, thought I had brought a bargain £170 second-hand one from ebay. The family who used it before were good campers, the tent was well maintained and it is nearly in mint condition. I have now decided this is THE TENT I have been looking for, and will not be buying another. I was tempted by the trailer tents, but on reflection - including the opinion of the guy who sold me this one - this tent is a much better option: happy camping.

5Skandika Nimbus 12 Man Family Tent
By Toffee bear
It does what it says on the tin..so to speak!! its Big, its simple to put up and quick to put down. Instructions take a little bit of reading, but once mastered it really is easy. One thing it doesn't explain is there are very important black "guide straps" which HAVE to sit underneth the whole of the fabric of the tent so once the tent is starting to take shape, these straps will sit square on the floor to the guide the ground sheets!!But overall the tent is totally amazing, tons of rooms lots of windows and air vents and would rate this to anyone !!Happy camping and may see you there...you wont really miss this tent :)
