5Highly recommended!
By Mr B
I've be looking for a mono-strap rucksack for quite a while, but they were all too small or not well built enough for all my activities.I wasn't sure about spending this much money on a rucksack but couldn't resist taking the chance.I have to say I am very impressed. With all the little pockets, features & ways for it to open/close it seems abit fiddley to begin with but soon you realise the flexibility it can give you. I use this bag everyday now, it's so sturdy it'll last for years & I love being able to throw it on in a rush & it's good to go!If you're in two minds, just go for it, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

5Gear slinger bag.
By Dee.
Everything you would expect from the maxpedition range. An excellent product that's become my " everything bag" fits in the overhead locker on flights as hand luggage, perfect for walks, trips away at weekends, or just around town.Attachment system allows for endless combinations of extra pouches.Everything is thought of, and designed in, even down to the opening for a drinks tube ( probably attached to a platypus) and a grab handle. The perfect bug out bag, with plenty of room at 25 litres.A range of colours are available, its well padded and comfortable on the back, with a seriously substantial "across body" strap.I cannot recommend this product highly enough !!

3An unusual and somewhat unique, if expensive backpack.
By The glow in the dark
An unusual and somewhat unique, if expensive backpack.Designed in the US by Maxpedition, though they are actually built in Taiwan.Unfavourably know by those with a sense of humour as...'The makers of the ultimate series of man-purses'This company make quasi-military kit.The stuff that guys, who really like knives - love.I wanted a single strap carry. Looked at many options... this seemed the best.A double strap, would entail taking the pack off completely to get at something. This is a lot easier to put on and take off quickly. You don't even have to remove it,just slip it around and you can access certain parts.Would have been far better for me ( I'm right handed )if the water bottle pocket and the 'discreet side pocket',were on the opposite side. It seems odd, where they are now placed? It comes in swathes of combat colours, but 'black' makes the least amount of noise in urban settings. It's covered in 'Molle' 'Pals' webbing/straps for attaching various external 'pouches'.A plethora of which, are also available by Maxpedition. My main caveat with the Monsoon Gearslinger ( as sold as standard )is that there are no external pouches that come with it.The outside is completely devoid of anywhere to quickly stash something, apart from the lower main straps 'zipper pocket'.So, with the purchase of your Monsoon - you could possibly buy'The Barnacle' a tiny pouch for the strap,a 'Rat wallet' for the zipper pocket and an 'M5' pouch for the side... etc, etc. These items, unfortunately here in the UK - add up to a further eighty five pounds or more.Of course, all this would add to the general bulk of the bag as well.Internally, the Monsoon has two compartments. An fairly exposed outer section and a safer inner central area. The exposed section is very odd, as any rain would flood the bag.If the Monsoon was designed... with it's namesake 'Monsoon' in mind, and therefore had a light rain cover - that designer 'foresight'would have been very handy and useful.Overall, It comes down to price. This pack in the US,sells for around a third less than the UK price. And that's including the reseller's profit margin.Yes, twenty percent tax and the importers fees and their profit etc...but this makes the bag, a very expensive item.Over a hundred for it's basic state... much more to maximise it.If you have two hundred quid - for the ultimate man-bag...this could be one way to squander that dough.
