Product Description
The Robens Star 1 Tent offers plenty of room for solo trekkers and cyclists in a light, robust, twin wedge-shaped profile that sheds wind, is easily pitched and offers exceptional value for money. Four attached short poles on the corners of the tent, with adjustable pegging loop hangers, add to the height at head and feet for comfortable living inside. The main external pole maximises living space and double guylines ensure quick fine adjustment to cope with the roughest weather. Excellent ventilation through the tent is guaranteed by the use of low zipped vent panels at each end, protected by eaves and adjustable from inside, plus large rainproof vents at the apex. The insect proof mesh door adds another ventilation option, the fabric inner door with double slider zips over it for a snug night's rest. The Star 1 tent can be pitched flysheet first or as one.

This is a cracking little tent.I have used it on a number of cycle touring trips.Fits nicely along rear pannier rack.Put up in a couple of minutes and down just as quickly. Pitches as one, so no issues of inner getting wet. Spent a week in Norther Ireland last June and it rained every day. Absolutely no problem.Pitched correctly, no problems dealing with strong winds. The vent system on this tent is fantastic. It is simplicity itself to control airflow through the tent. No condensation with this tent.I am six foot and I have no space issues at all. OK getting dressed etc inside is interesting. With my head at the centre I can sit up.I use a lightweight tarp with it to give space for cooking etc in comfort.

After seeing this here and there during my searches for good entry level tents that would be light and compact enough to carry on my pannier rack I eventually decided to get it with the gift card I got from work. During the 10 weeks it saw a mixture of weather. 30 decree celcius nights in the south of France in Summer. Some very heavy rain. Wind was either never a huge issue or the tent is designed to cope with it. It's got lots of clever little design features that I was still discovering weeks into my trip. The main thing though is it's waterproofness. It's tight. There was one point where I was camping beside this river that had a flood warning sign. But I reckoned the sign was for spring/early summer when snow would be melting. So I set up. Middle of the night had a pannic attack when I noticed water was gathering under the tent. Wasn't a flood, some farmer was letting water off from a farm I think. I ended up moving the tent at 2 am anyway cause I didn't realise what the problem was till the next morning. But When I'd set it up again I felt all my stuff and everything in the tent was bone dry. The floor felt like a cold waterbed, but didn't let a drop through.
