This knife is a very fine product. I like the bright red plastic and the fish logo. The tools are well illustrated in the picture above, but I'd like to draw your attention to the design of the scissors - it is a more durable and effective mechanism than that found in Victorinox knives. The flat screwdriver and bottle opener tool has self-activating, self-releasing lock mechanism when in use, which is clever, and is a feauture not found in the Victorinox equivalents.I bought my uncle a Victorinox 1473372 Army Knife Fisherman a little while ago. It's cool, but I wanted to try Wenger for myself. I've always been a Victorinox man, but I am pleased to say that Wenger is an ideal alternative. Wenger is now owned by Victorinox.The Wenger knife is a little shorter than the Victorinox alternative. I think it looks more modern and the grip mouldings on the handle are a useful feature. The tweezers and toothpick are also very well concealed, unlike on the Victorinox. There is no ruler on the Wenger, whereas there is on the Victorinox, but the Wenger has an extra feature - on the combination fish scaler and hook disgorger there is also a line guide. No idea what a line guide is, but the Victorinox doesn't have one, but then again, the Victorinox does have a thread hole in its reamer/awl/punch, whereas the Wenger doesn't! You can have a look at the pictures and see which knife best meets your needs.I think the Wenger is a slightly higher grade product and that appears to be reflected in the price.The knife arrives in a very simple card box with instructional leaflet and five year warranty.Update: After using this Wenger knife trout fishing, I can confirm that the Victorinox hook removal tool is superior, and for that reason alone I would recommend the Victorinox over this model. The Victorinox hook removal tool is deep and provides a surer, more confident embrace of the hook. Take a close look at the product pictures and you'll see what I mean.

What can you say. A swiss army knife. with bells & whistles(neither actually). I was a bit dissapointed with the scissor tool. It does not seem to always open correctly. It is easy to pass the "handles" over each other thus reversing the cutting blades. Which is a bind whilst balancing a rod, fly etc in mid-stream.
