Mil-Tec are usually an excellent bet for outdoor, military and survival gear, which makes this kit a bit of a disappointment. Although the box itself is rather nice, the actual kit is a bit weak. The matches you get are just a normal, bog-standard book of paper matches - I would have liked to have seen proper windproof matches, so I'll be replacing these. The fishing kit and safety pins too look a bit suspect. One hook didn't have a loop to thread your line through and the pins felt very flimsy. In the kit you get 1 wire saw, 2 balls of cotton wool, 1 emergency whistle, 1 book of paper matches, 1 lock knife (serrated edge), 1 tea light, 1 length of snare wire, 1 mirror in the lid, 1 fire striker (which works with the knife, 1 sewing kit, 1 small button compass, 1 pencil, 1 fishing kit (line, hooks, weights and swivels), 4 or 5 safety pins, basic field/survival instructions and basic medical/casualty report. The plastic box itself measure roughly 3.5 inches by 5 inches and is made from hard plastic. It's hard as I don't have one to compare this too - but with hind-sight, I might be inclined to buy one of the metal tinned kits in future.
